I’m delighted to announce a brand-new contemporary crime series, which will be published by Storm Publishing. A very big thank you to my agent, Thérèse Coen, at SLA London, for brokering this three-book deal.
The Setting
Some of you may have visited Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, which is such a beautiful stretch of coastline, running from Donegal in the north to West Cork in the south. And if you haven’t, you really should – it’s stunning.

Co. Mayo, which lies on the west coast, has always been my spiritual home as my mother hailed from the tiny village of Partry, a beautiful spot, nestled between Lough Mask and Lough Carra with the Partry Mountains to the west. I have always wanted to set a book in this part of Ireland, so when I was thinking about a setting for this new crime series, it was an easy decision to select Westport and its environs as the home for my books. The series is set in Glenfinn (a fictional village, based on several villages located on Clew Bay, close to Croagh Patrick).
Here’s a quick photographic tour of the locations.

The wild, rugged landscape is perfect for some murderous mischief, I think you’ll agree.
The Characters
The stories feature Ali Brennan, a landscape designer who has recently relocated to Glenfinn. She has left Dublin to set up a new branch of the family landscaping business. Gavan, Ali’s nephew, has just dropped out of college and is at a loose end. Ali is persuaded by his mother to employ him as a trainee in the family business. However, as their various investigations unfold, he proves to be a very useful sidekick.
There is one more very important character to introduce. Pip, a tabby cat who makes his home with Ali and Gavan. And yes, this is one of my real-life moggy assistants. He’s now looking for an agent and a manager and can be contacted at greedycat@moggymail.ie! (He also insists that if there is ever a movie version, he will play himself.)

What’s it all about?
Relocating to Glenfinn is a fresh start for Ali after the breakup of a long-term relationship, but when a local man dies in strange circumstances, Ali is drawn into the mystery by his distraught widow…
Then, just as Ali becomes embroiled in the murder investigation, her ex, Detective Inspector Aidan Cahill, turns up at her office one day to inform her that her life is under threat from the criminal gang he is investigating. Could life get any more complicated for poor Ali?
Over the course of the series, Ali and Gavan tackle a series of murders including a missing man turning up dead on an isolated island, the murder of two social workers, and the killing of an employee at a local garden festival.
While this is a cosy crime series, it does tackle serious topics such as gangland crime, people trafficking and drug smuggling, reflecting modern Ireland and its issues.
The first two books in the series will be published in 2026, the third in 2027.
Keep an eye on my social media for more updates very soon.
